Expo Tour

Take a quick tour of the many things to see and do at the Earth Day Expo...

Entrance

As you enter the Expo, stop by a Welcome Tent to pick up an Expo program, get directions, check out the door prizes & enter the drawing, and make any donation to the Expo to receive a "It's Cool to be Green - Expo Supporter" thank you gift. Check back on your way out to see if you've won your preferred door prize in the hourly drawings, and to pick up your gifts on your way out (limit one per donation).

Wellness Area

As you walk east on 3rd Street from Main Street, the Wellness Area occupies the large parking lot to your right (south), just west of Water St. As you enter the Area, the Massage Tent will be to your left. Stop on your way in or out for a free massage from Irene's Myomassology Institute. Wellness exhibits, including healthcare practitioners, wellness media, as well as nutrition, exercise and yoga providers, can be found in the large tent straight ahead. Activities (yoga, workout) and presentations will be scheduled throughout both days, at the Wellness Activities & Stage tent next to the Exhibits. A meditation labyrinth (shhh!) in the parking lot's NW corner rounds out the Wellness area (except in the event of rain).

Water Street Exhibits

As you return to 3rd Street, you can't miss the colorful Blo-Kart wind-powered land racing vehicles. Continue east on 3rd and turn left (north) at Water to check out the Farmer's Row and right (south) for the Renewables Row.

Information / DDA Booth
For Expo information and programs, information about the Rochester DDA, and to enter the door prize drawing, stop by the Expo Info Booth at the intersection.

Farmer's Row
The Farmer's Row offers a wide variety of exhibits of local, organic and natural food products, as well as other items produced locally. The Food & Farm Stage, on your right (east side of Water St.), offers presentations on the many important issues surrounding local and global food production, as well as on food choices that are healthy for you and the Earth.

Renewables Road
Renewables Road provides displays of equipment powered by renewable energy, including a wind turbine from Geo-Renew, renewable energy equipment displays, biodiesel and electric boats.

Third Street & Firehouse Area

Auto Alley
East of Water Street on Third Street, you will not want to miss Auto Alley, highlighted by Chrysler's latest all-electric sports car, brought straight from its development lot in Auburn Hills to the Expo, and also including the latest in hybrid vehicles from Ford and local dealers.

Food Service
The food service and dining area will be located in the west parking lot of the Firehouse. Mind, Body & Spirits restaurant and Whole Foods Market will headline the food service offering healthy, delicious food and drink. While dining, relax in the Dining Area tent with live, acoustic music.  When you're done, make sure to pitch your food scraps, compostable plates, cups and serving-ware in the nearby recycling bins.

Main Stage & Film Theater
The main stage, located on the north side of 3rd Street, and the Film Theater, inside the Firehouse, will offer a full schedule of earth-friendly entertainment and interesting film presentations throughout the day. Check the program schedule for updates. Check out the artist merchandise on sale at the booth across from the stage, and Disneynature's Earth movie promotion near the film theater entrance.

Recreation Area - Hike & Bike

At the end of 3rd street, you won't miss the climbing tower. Oakland County Parks staff will offer a  free climb. Then check out the hike and bike exhibits where you can meet for a trail hike with Team in Training and a guided nature walk with an Oakland County Parks naturalist (see activity schedule). A covered bike rack area is available there as well.  A few steps to the east, bordering the beautiful Paint Creek, you will find the Paint Creek Trail. Take the trail north through the Rochester downtown walkway or south a short distance to the Clinton River and Clinton River trail.

 Rewold Lot

As you walk east on 3rd past Water Street, the Rewold lot is located on your left (on the north side of 3rd Street). You will find many exhibit and activity areas there.

Connections Cafe'
The first large tent on your left is the Connections Cafe, where non-profit organizations and local/state government agencies will provide education and advocacy exhibits and non-commercial roundtable discussions (10am-12pm & 1-3pm both days). Connection Cafe' roundtables are a unique opportunity for community-building through interaction with subject matter experts and networking with others. Stroll through the Cafe', stop in at exhibits, and keep an eye out for topics of interest to you, which are posted at each table. Don't be shy about joining or leaving a roundtable discussion.

Kids' Corner
Behind the Connections Cafe, you will find the Kids Corner. Make sure to take the kids there for interesting exhibits, fun activities, contests, presentations, farm animal petting, pony rides and more, all just for kids. The Kids Stage schedule is available here.

Green Living Exhibits
If you're looking for ways to live greener - and reduce energy bills, learn about renewable energy, find non-toxic products for home, lawn & garden, and shop for healthy, eco-friendly services and products for your your family and yourself -  then continue to the east end of the lot and visit the Green Living Exhibit tent.

Green Living Stage
Make sure to make it to the Green Living Stage for a full schedule of presentations on a number of interesting and important green living topics.
